Gender:
Alzheimer's Disease is more common in women. In the U.S. women make up two-thirds of Alzheimer's patients. Along with this, in Austria 74% of Alzheimer's Disease patients are women sixty years and older. Finally, women seventy-one years and older are 7% more likely to develop this disease compared to men seventy-one years and older. This happens because women outlive men. As an individual gets older their risk of developing Alzheimer's Disease grows. As women outlive men their chances of developing Alzheimer's Disease increase.
